AMD PMU Extension Driver
The Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 team suite provides a performance monitoring utility, VSPerfcmd.exe. It is a command line interface for profiling applications. CSPerfcmd.exe uses a Microsoft kernel mode driver that abstracts the hardware Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU). The AMD CodeAnalyst™ team provides an extension driver that interfaces with the Microsoft driver to perform event-based profiling on AMD platforms.
