These tools have been discontinued and are no longer supported by AMD. To better meet your developer tools needs, AMD has integrated debugger, profiler and code analysis tools into a unified tool called AMD CodeXL. The previous tools will remain available in this archive, but will no longer be supported. We encourage you to start using the new tools today.

AMD Core Math Library provides a set of thoroughly optimized and threaded math routines for HPC, scientific, engineering and related compute-intensive applications. It has been replaced with the open-sourced solution, AMD Compute Libraries.


gDEBugger is an OpenCL™ and OpenGL debugger and memory analyzer. This tool collects information about OpenCL™ & OpenGL API usage and allows OpenCL™ kernel debugging by stepping through the source code and setting source code breakpoints.

APP Kernel Analyzer

APP KernelAnalyzer is a static analysis tool used to compile, analyze and disassemble an OpenCL™ kernel for AMD Radeon™ GPUs. AMD APP KernelAnalyzer has been succeeded by AMD’s CodeXL.

APP Profiler

APP Profiler is a performance analysis tool that gathers data from the OpenCL™ run-time and AMD Radeon™ GPUs during the execution of an OpenCL™ application. AMD APP Profiler has been succeeded by AMD’s CodeXL.

GCC & GNU Toolchains

The GNU Compiler Collection includes front ends for C, C++, Objective-C, Fortran, Java, Ada, and Go, as well as libraries for multiple languages.

Code Analyst

CodeAnalyst is a profiling tool that improves the performance of games and media-oriented applications, transaction processing, and high performance scientific/engineering computation on AMD & Intel processors.


Advanced Platform Management Link is an out-of-band power management and RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) AMD processor feature.

AMD Tootle

AMD Tootle (Triangle Order Optimization Tool) is a mesh optimization library that improves on existing mesh preprocessing techniques. It’s open source and available on GPUOpen.

The Compressonator

A tool for compressing textures and creating mip-map levels. It’s now open source and available on GPUOpen!
