Manager, SDK Engineering

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a team of top-notch engineers creating business relevant, robust SDKs for the AMD developer community. The team is closely connected with the Performance Application Engineering (PAE) team as well as internal engineering to both provide feedback as well as to incorporate latest product features. The SDKs represent the state of the art to broad-based developers, so quality user experience is extremely critical.
  • Work as an integral part of the global Developer Solutions organization.
  • Interface with various AMD engineering teams, product management, ecosystem partners and ISVs.
  • Actively drive communication and cross-team/cross-site interaction.
  • Manage external contractor services and drive project deliverables
  • Drive content generation for Developer Outreach including tutorials, demos, white papers, webinars and developer forum posts.

Requirements:

  • Graduate (MS/ME/MTech) engineering degree from top schools in EE or CS with 8+ years of hands-on performance software development experience, particularly as a product architect
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience including team-building
  • Strong technical skills in software product development using C / C++ in Windows and/or Linux environment in relevant domains especially multimedia
  • Experience in data-parallel/GPU computing preferred(e.g.: OpenCL, CUDA)Experience in customer-facing, contract-management or other external business-oriented roles
  • Adaptable to changing business requirements including ability to implement quick decisions based on business relevance and company priorities
  • Flexible to learn new skills and drive completion of technical and business goals
  • Ability to work across and overlap with multi-disciplinary internal groups
  • Ability to work across and overlap with multi-disciplinary internal groups
  • Excellent communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive results.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle with strong commitment to quality & process.

 

Audio SDK Engineer

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Design & architect a world-class Audio SDK that optimally addresses the needs of the AMD audio developer community.
  • Work as an integral part of the global Developer Solutions organization.
  • Interface with various AMD engineering teams, product management, ecosystem partners and ISVs.
  • Facilitate multiple cross-team/cross-site interaction.
  • Drive project deliverables with external services contractors as needed
  • Generate content for Developer Outreach including tutorials, demos, white papers, webinars and developer forum posts.

Requirements:

  • Graduate (MS/ME/MTech) engineering degree from top schools in EE or CS with 8+ years of hands-on performance software development experience, particularly as a product architect dealing with multi-channel audio
  • Strong technical skills in software product development using C / C++ in Windows and/or Linux environment
  • In depth knowledge of industry-standard multimedia frameworks, particularly – prior experience with Media Foundation or Microsoft DirectShow strongly preferred
  • Good understanding of legacy, existing & new audio codec standards
  • Expertise in audio pre & post processing algorithms
  • Prior experience with popular Audio DSP tool-chains & architecture
  • Flexible to learn new skills and drive completion of technical and business goals
  • Ability to work across and overlap with multi-disciplinary internal groups
  • Excellent communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive results.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle with strong commitment to quality & process.
  • Strong interest in creating and evangelizing solid reference implementations, white papers and application notes

 

Compute SDK Engineer

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Design & architect world class SDKs that optimally addresses the needs of the AMD parallel compute developer community.
  • Work as an integral part of the global Developer Solutions organization.
  • Interface with various AMD engineering teams, product management, ecosystem partners and ISVs.
  • Facilitate multiple cross-team/cross-site interaction.
  • Drive project deliverables with external services contractors as needed
  • Generate content for Developer Outreach including tutorials, demos, white papers, webinars and developer forum posts.

Requirements:

  • Graduate (MS/ME/MTech) engineering degree in EE or CS with 8+ years of hands-on performance software development experience, particularly as a product architect dealing with multi-channel audio
  • Strong technical skills in software product development using C / C++ in Windows and/or Linux environment
  • Deep experience in data-parallel/GPU computing (e.g.: OpenCL, CUDA)
  • Prior experience with C++ AMP desirable
  • Domain expertise in at least one of video, image processing, audio, high-performance compute, security domains.
  • Flexible to learn new skills and drive completion of technical and business goals
  • Ability to work across and overlap with multi-disciplinary internal groups
  • Excellent written & oral communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive results.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle with strong commitment to quality & process.
  • Strong interest in creating and evangelizing solid reference implementations, white papers and application notes

 

Release & Automation engineer, SDK Engineering

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Be the release gate for all SDK releases
  • Architect & implement the continuous build & integration infrastructure for quick & accurate feedback to the developer community
  • Work with SDK QA engineers to ensure automation of test scripts
  • Interface with various AMD engineering teams to ensure reuse of infrastructure, technology and processes particularly appropriate logging or hooks to allow effective test automation
  • Actively drive communication and cross-team/cross-site interaction.

Requirements:

  • Graduate (BS/BE/BTech) engineering degree in EE or CS with 8+ years of hands-on experience, as a QA architect
  • Very strong scripting skills, particularly in Python & Perl
  • Experience with the state-of-the-art test and build frameworks & infrastructure for software products
  • Experience with Microsoft Media Foundation, Microsoft DirectShow and other industry standard multimedia frameworks strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in validating GPU based products preferred
  • Prior Multimedia experience is desirable
  • Adaptable to changing business requirements including ability to implement quick decisions based on business relevance and company priorities
  • Ability to work across and overlap with multi-disciplinary internal groups
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle with strong commitment to quality & process.

 

SDK QA Engineer

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Validate the SDK development activity and address the needs of the AMD developer community by assuring a high-quality user experience.
  • Implement test, build and release automation per requirements for each AMD SDK.
  • Work as an integral part of the global Developer Solutions organization.
  • Interface with various AMD engineering & SDK engineering teams

Requirements:

  • Graduate (BS/BE/BTech) engineering degree in EE or CS with 5+ years of hands-on software validation experience
  • Prior experience with industry standard software test frameworks and standard test methodologies
  • Strong scripting & automation skills required for software product validation in Windows & Linux environment
  • Experience with validation of applications using Microsoft DirectShow or MFT, strongly preferred.
  • Flexible to learn new skills and drive completion of technical and business goals
  • Excellent communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive results.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle with strong commitment to quality & process.
