Dual-core gaming machines have been out for a long time, and AMD Quad FX is coming out right about...now! With more and more cores on the horizon, your players are getting massive processing power. But only those games that are designed to take advantage of them will benefit.

Doubling cores is not the same as bumping chip speed. While multicore processors offer some relatively small performance gains for single-threaded apps, their real power comes from multithreading.
