1. Eligibility.
The second annual AMD Treasure Hunt Giveaway in Second Life (the "Promotion") is open only to qualifying Second Life treasure hunt participants, who (a) are 18 years of age or older, (b) own and maintain a valid Second Life character and account, and (c) register on the AMD Developer Central website during the Promotion Period as described herein ("Participants"). Employees of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. ("Sponsor"), its subsidiaries, affiliates and agents, and the immediate family (defined as parents, children, siblings and husband or wife) of each such employee, together with those with whom such employees are domiciled, are not eligible. By participating in the Promotion, Participants warrant that they are eligible to participate under the applicable laws governing procurement of prizes and awards. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Participant if Sponsor determines that Participant's participation in the Promotion or receipt of prize would violate state or local law. Participants may be required to submit proof of their eligibility. Participation in the Promotion constitutes Participant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules.
2. Promotion Period.
The Promotion begins May 12, 2008 at 09:00AM (PST) and ends August 1, 2008 at 05:00PM (PST).
3. Entering and Winning.
To participate, Participant must visit the AMD Dev Central Second Life Pavilion and follow the instructions to successfully complete the Second Life treasure hunt game. Any Participant that successfully completes the game will receive one (1) entry into the random drawing.
On or about August 5, 2008, the Sponsor will select one (1) potential winner in a random drawing of all participants that successfully completed the treasure hunt game. The potential winner need not be present at the time of the drawing to win. Odds of winning depend on total number of eligible entries received.
Only one entry per person. Multiple entries from the same person will not be accepted. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, illegible or misdirected entries, which will be disqualified or for any error, human, technical or otherwise. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the operation of the Promotion or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules.
4. Prize.
One (1) Grand Prize: One (1) AMD Phenom™ quad-core processor-based "Spider" system including ATI Radeon™ HD 3800 series graphics and AMD 7-series chipsets (or equivalent). (Approximate Retail Value: US $2,200.)
The prize is not transferable, and no cash substitutes for prizes are available, except by Sponsor, which reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute different prizes of comparable value. Sponsor's decisions shall be final and conclusive in all matters relating to the Promotion. Applicable local, state, and federal taxes and any customs charges or tariffs on prizes are the sole responsibility of and must be paid by the winner(s).
5. Prize Notification and Delivery.
Potential winners will be notified via e-mail, U.S. mail, overnight courier or telephone. Sponsor will attempt to notify potential winners by reasonable means, using the contact information provided by the Participant on his or her completed entry. Each potential winner may, at Sponsor's discretion, be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability, as well as a publicity release within ten (10) days of notification, except where prohibited by applicable law. Failure to return a signed affidavit and release of liability within the required time period may result in forfeiture of the prize, except where prohibited by applicable law. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. If for any reason a potential winner cannot be reached after a reasonable attempt has been made, or does not return a signed affidavit and release in a timely manner, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner, selected by random drawing from among remaining entries. The prize will be sent to the address provided by Participant on his or her completed entry. Allow up to eight (8) weeks for delivery. Failure to comply with any term or condition in these Official Rules may result in disqualification. The reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner(s). Winner(s) may waive their right to receive a prize, in which case an alternate winner will be selected in the manner described above.
6. General Conditions.
Except where prohibited by applicable law, participation in the Promotion constitutes each winner's consent to Sponsor's use of the winner's name, city, state, province or county, and country, likeness, photograph, statements made by the winner about the Promotion, Sponsor, and/or prize information for Promotion purposes in any media without further payment or consideration. BY PARTICIPATING IN THE PROMOTION, EACH PARTICIPANT AGREES TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS SPONSOR, ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, AGENTS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS AND EMPLOYEES FROM AND AGAINST ANY CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF PARTICIPATION IN THE PROMOTION OR RECEIPT, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF THE PRIZE. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Promotion if fraud, technical failures, sabotage, security breach, or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Promotion as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prizes at random from the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment.
7. Miscellaneous.
Participant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion, or any prizes awarded, other than the administration of the Promotion or the determination of winners shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Courts for the Northern District of California (San Jose Division) or the appropriate California State Court located in Santa Clara County, California; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Promotion, but in no event attorneys' fees; and (3) under no circumstances will Participant be permitted to obtain awards for and Participant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of each Participant and Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of California, or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California.

10. Winners List.
